About me
I'm Leslie Anasu Espinoza Campomanes — biomedical & software engineer, AI specialist in medicine, and a first-generation, indigenous Peruvian woman from the outskirts of Lima. I carry my Quechua-Chanka roots with deep pride.
I learned English in three years. I was admitted to over 12 of the world's top universities and chose Stanford, where I completed both my BS in Bioengineering and my MS in Biomedical AI at Stanford Medicine — on a full scholarship.
"My goal isn't just to be at the table. It's to build a bigger table — one where my community has a seat."
— Leslie Espinoza CampomanesThroughout my career I have collaborated with Nobel Prize winners, contributed to cancer and chronic disease research, published in Current Biology and other peer-reviewed journals, and served as Centennial Teaching Assistant at Stanford's School of Engineering. Today I am a Radiation Oncology Research Fellow at Stanford Medicine.

Social impact
I deeply believe the knowledge I have acquired must return to the communities that need it most. My work does not end in the lab — it lives in the streets, rural schools, and organizations fighting to change the system.
As Girl Up Ambassador for Peru at the UN, I worked to empower girls and young Latinas in access to education, health, and technology. I believe the next biomedical engineer can come from any Andean community — if given the opportunity.
